Characteristics

  • A large shark of fusiform and rather slender body and a long and acutely pointed snout.
  • Teeth strong and relatively few, alike in both jaws, backward-pointing and smooth edged.
  • The first dorsal fin comparatively large, the second small.
  • Pectoral fin moderately long, caudal fin lunate.
  • Back grey blue, occasionally deep blue, belly white.
  • Maximum size: 400 cm.

Distribution

Eastern part of the Oman Sea.
